Pterosaurs Up Close

Author Peter Dodson introduces young readers to pterosaurs. Although they are not dinosaurs, these flying reptiles lived fascinating lives millions of years ago. Readers will learn about Pterandodon, Pterodactylus, and many other pterosaurs. They'll get an up-close view into their lives and habits. This is a great resource for budding paleontologists.

* Reviews *

Young dinosaur lovers will quickly be able to read these books. The dinosaur names are difficult, but a pronunciation guide is provided. Each topic is covered in short paragraphs, allowing the reader to focus on one general idea. However, this sometimes makes for choppy fluency. A map indicates where fossil remains have been found. The photos, while adequate, are not as exciting as drawings found in other dinosaur books. Since there are few easy titles about dinosaurs, this series fills a need. Bibliography. Glossary. Websites.
