Read the story about Christopher Columbus to learn about his life and why October twelfth is Columbus Day in the United States. The chapters cover different aspects of Columbus life. The first chapter briefly covers Columbus place in history. In the following chapters, readers learn about his life and quest to find a different route to India. The author also explains that there is little information known about Columbus childhood. The last chapters look at how people recognize Columbus achievements along with the current celebrations of Columbus Day.
