Counting Puppies and Kittens

As easy as one, two, three; once readers get their hands on this book they won't want to put it down. Charming photographs of puppies and kittens will delight readers and encourage them to read and reread this book as they learn the basics of counting. This book will help readers master counting by ones, twos, fives, tens, and twenty-fives. The number line on every page keeps readers on task as they enter the world of mathematics.

Puppy and Kitten Math series. Basic math concepts are introduced via photographs of kittens and puppies, and some kids will be drawn in by the cutesy premise. However, it's not well executed: number lines are lost in the gutters in Adding; Counting and Subtracting muddle how to "count back"; Measuring's rulers and yardsticks are too small to read easily; and the loose rhymes in Telling Time are inane.
