* Reviews *

This series fills a huge void in elementary science collections. Locating books featuring these topics, appropriate for the elementary school student to read independently, is a daunting task. Each book includes comprehension/review questions and suggested Web sites. Each volume uses charts, diagrams, and beautiful photographs to illustrate the scientific concepts, including attractive, bold graphics to catch the reader's eye. The graphics are complete in their coverage of the essential ideas. The text is easy enough for young readers as well as lower level readers in the upper grades. Text is arranged in succinct "chunks," giving important facts without overwhelming readers. Looking at Science: How Things Change is an essential addition to all new school libraries as well as existing libraries needing a boost in collection development. Glossary. Table of Contents. Index.
